“Fantastic tour - used twice!” - Jade K (London, Canada)

We were in Cape Town at the end of September. As we were only staying for 4 days we had a packed schedule, however, it wasnt untilmwe arrived thatnwe decidednwe wanted to visit the vineyards. we called Blue View travel after seeing the website on the off chance that there would be availability for thenfollowing day. Luckily there was availability for a half day private tour which was very reasonably priced (750 ZAR each).

Alto picked us up promptly and the transport was very comfortable. From the start Alto was excellent. We had done some research about the best vineyards in Stellanbosch but were happy to be led by Alto's suggestions. Luckily the ones that we had picked we already on his list!

As we were driving around Alto gave us an excellent overview of the history of the area - his local knowledge is a define plus. We visited four vineyards, each one being of a slightly different style. The tastings were comprehensive and we sampled (and bought) some great wines. Alto had a great relationship with the vineyards that we visited and all payments for tastings were included. Alto went the extra step on many occasions such as arranging a cheese tasting for us, an olive tasting after a mentioned that I like it and a special brandy tasting.

Having been soo impressed we asked Alto if he would be available the following day for a full day trip down to Cape Point. Luckily he was and suggested a great schedule for us. The only problem was that We had dinner reservations in Camps Bay but Alto promised that we would be finished in time and even offered to drop us off at the restaurant.

We had an excellent day - highlights included feeding a wild sea lion at Hout Bay, seeing the wild baboons, visiting Cape Point, Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch gardens. Again, all payments were taken care of as part of the tour cost and Alto went the extra mile (he discreetly paid the the relevant tip for me to feed the sea lion for example).

Overall, we cannot recommend Blue View travel enough. Our tours were incredibly well organised, especially given the short notice. Alto was especially helpful - always trying to make our experience the best possible. Having looked at the website since we returned and seen the 4 and 7 day tours we are now considering these for next year!

“Fantastic Full Day Wine Tour a must!!!” - Candsanne (Camberwell, Victoria, Australia)

I was over from Australia visiting a friend in Cape Town & of course a wine tour is a must when in Cape Town. Having looked at various websites, we couldn't find a good value wine tour that was reasonably priced. We decided to go to the Tourism office to see if they could recommend any. They called Blue View to see if there was availability for a tour the following day. Luckily there was availability and we booked a private tour for us at R590 pp. They confirmed a reasonable time for pick up at 10am from where we were staying. The following day, the van arrived and we were greeted by the friendly Alto. We found Alto to be extremely friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the wine farms & surrounding areas. We landed up seeing around 6 wine farms including a cheese tasting at some of the most stunning locations. Alto gave us the History on the wine farms & recommended a fantastic restaurant for lunch, the Haute Cabriere. Overall we both found the tour fantastic AND Alto a great tour guide. I will most definitely recommend doing one of the Blue View Travel Day tours to give you the best experience of the beautiful wine farms that Cape Town has to offer!

There were two and have to get a private tour of the Cape Peninsula. Very nice and courteous guide, good price (750R pp), saw a lot and explains everything in detail. Time for your own needs. A great day, only to be recommended!

“Winetour with Alto Krynauw” - Zwolle, The Netherlands

Last weekend we did a wine tour in Stellenbosch. We sat in a comfortable car with a friendly driver. Alto was our driver and he told wonderful history of Stellenbosch and its wines while driving. We let him choose which wineries we would go. And we've seen the most beautiful spots. We have been on a very old vineyard and to all modern wineries. Actually we did not have to do ourselves and Alto has arranged everything for us. All top! He was also open to vineyards where we ourselves would want to go. He also knew about wines and we have also tasted by him, the best wines of South Africa. Finally he gave us additional tips on South Africa for our trip, where we were to spend the night or go out to dinner could.

“3 excellent trips with Alto at Blue View Travel” - Cape Town, South Africa

We made 3 different trips with Blue View Travel when staying in Cape Town i December 2014 and Janyary 2015. A wine tour, a trip to the Cape of Good hope, and a trip to Garden Route Game Lodge. All of the tours were absolutely great. Alto picked us up at the hotel, and guided us safely to all those places. Nice stops along the way, great restaurants for lunch, historical information during the drive, great places for us to take photos. We do recommend this agency warmly and of all our heart.

“Stellenbosch/Franschhoek wine tour”

In February 2014 we took a wine tour around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek with Alto. It was definitely a highlight of our visit to Cape Town: a lovely relaxed day with plenty of good wine enlivened with Alto's stories about the vineyards we were visiting.

“Alto the Cognito” - Arlington, Virginia

My partner, Mary, and I, were fortunate in being assigned Alto Krynauw as our Tour Guide on our drive around the Stellenbosch wineries and Vineyeards in late June 2014. Alto knows everything thetre is to know about the vineyards and wineries to which he took us and he is a first-name basis with most of the staff, managers and owners of these vineyards which we visited together. When we asked for a good recommendation for lunch, he kindly suggested that we go to a special restaurant in Franschoike. Alto managed to get us a special, in-depth guided tour of the GRAF Wine Estate, an organic vineyard owned by the diamond magnate Graf, including their private hotel, spa and restaurant area. That was a special experience which we shall never forget. Thank you, Alto and thank you Blue View Travel Tours for the 2 days of wine estate tours which we enjoyed with your company!
